| Our Mission Harvard Alumni for Social Action (HASA) is an independent organization open to all Harvard alumni who seek to encourage the University to use donations for social good. HASA members believe that Harvard's prominence and wealth make it uniquely able to support educational and research institutions in developing countries. HASA therefore works to fund scholarships for African graduate students at Harvard and also to fund infrastructure improvements at needy African universities. To date, HASA has focused on increasing the number of African graduate students at Harvard and strengthening universities in sub-Saharan Africa through the establishment of two funds: the African Grad Student Fund and the African University Fund. HASA was founded by members of the Class of 1981 on the occasion of their 25th reunion and raised nearly $425,000 in its first year. So far, over 600 Harvard and Radcliffe alumni have pledged their support for HASA (see member list). We invite all alums to pledge their support and be part of this new and exciting initiative. To add your support sign up for our Mailing List. Let us know if you can help us introduce HASA to your Harvard/Radcliffe classmates. We are already planning activities and coordinating outreach for next year's reunions. Learn more! Click on HASA FACT SHEET and HASA FLYER to download the PDF versions. Support HASA! Click on Donate Now to give to the two funds. |
